Stress Beaters

Exercise and breathing exercises are the best way to reduce stress. For some people if they are short on time I suggest they take 5 minutes out of their day to sit somewhere quiet and focus on their breathing of deep breaths in and out with their eyes closed and maybe some light relaxing music. They can even sit in their car if need be. Focus on making sure that the breath is coming from the diaphragm and stomach and not the chest or neck.

– As long as they don’t have any injuries preventing them from doing so, everyone should be taking at least 10,000 steps a day to maintain their current body weight. They can easily do this by parking a little farther from their destination, using the stairs instead of the elevator, or setting a timer that they must get up from their desk every 30 minutes and take a quick lap around the office.

– To help build leg strength stand up from your desk chair and start to sit back down, but just before your buttocks touch the chair stand back up. This is a desk squat. Do three sets of 10-15 reps and you will see increased tone in the legs and buttocks
